Yes, we provide convenient online appointments to patients throughout the state of Texas.

SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression or major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts or actions. It is administered as a nasal spray under medical supervision in our clinic and must be followed by at least two hours of observation.

Sublingual ketamine is an off-label treatment option for certain mental health conditions. It is taken as a dissolvable tablet placed under the tongue, allowing for rapid absorption. At Ventana Mental Health, it is prescribed and administered under the direct supervision of a psychiatrist, following strict safety protocols.

Traditional antidepressants often take weeks to show benefits. SPRAVATO® and ketamine may work more rapidly for some patients. They are typically considered when other medications have not provided sufficient relief.

Eligibility is determined through a psychiatric evaluation. SPRAVATO® is available for patients who meet FDA criteria, while sublingual ketamine may be offered for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or OCD when other treatments have not been effective.

Yes. All patients must be physically located in Texas for telehealth evaluations and must attend our Southlake, TX clinic for in-person Spravato or ketamine administration.

For SPRAVATO®: you self-administer the nasal spray under supervision, then rest in a comfortable setting while being monitored for at least two hours.
For sublingual ketamine: the dissolvable tablet is administered in the clinic, and you will be monitored throughout the session.

Yes. For both SPRAVATO® and ketamine, patients are not permitted to drive until the following day. You will need a trusted family member, friend, or ride service to take you home. We can provide assistance with transportation for patients undergoing treatment with Spravato.

SPRAVATO® is FDA-approved and covered by many commercial insurance plans. Our staff will help you verify your benefits before treatment begins.
Sublingual ketamine is an off-label treatment and is generally self-pay. We provide clear cost estimates before your first session.

Common side effects of both SPRAVATO® and ketamine can include dizziness, nausea, dissociation (feeling “out of body”), and temporary increases in blood pressure. Most effects wear off the same day, and patients are monitored closely during treatment for safety.

The number of treatments varies by patient. SPRAVATO® has an FDA-recommended schedule, typically starting with twice-weekly visits for the first month, then tapering to weekly or every-other-week. Sublingual ketamine is individualized based on response, usually starting with a short course of sessions before moving to maintenance as appropriate.

The first step is a telehealth consultation with one of our psychiatrists. During this visit, we’ll review your history, discuss treatment options, and determine whether SPRAVATO® or ketamine could be appropriate for you.
